If you have a 3D model of a given product, you also get very high-quality 2D graphics/photos at the same time. You can use them to create printed materials such as posters, brochures, leaflets or business cards.
3. 360 video advertising
A good marketing principle is to use new solutions as often as possible. It turns out that 70 percent of marketers who used 360 films admitted that, thanks to them, they saw an increase in engagement.
So if you publish 360 videos, you’re getting a new and not yet crowded source of movement. For example, the travel agency Thomas Cook conducted a campaign that offered potential customers the opportunity to “visit” a given place in 360 video as part of the Try before you FLY campaign. What were the effects of this campaign?

3D printing is becoming more and more popular and is finding more and more applications. No wonder, as the technology is constantly evolving. Making a 3D model of a given object is the first step to printing its 3D version. This model can then be modified. This is useful when you want to test another version of a given product or create something completely new based on the previous model.
Once you have created the 3D model itself, you can also start printing it on a smaller scale. Many companies test their products in this way, when they want to launch something on the market, but do not want to take too much of a financial risk.

Communication through social media is extremely important. People on portals such as Facebook and Twitter prefer much shorter content. Interesting photos work very well. And if one image is worth more than a thousand words, how much is a 360 image worth?

3D models are also very helpful in designing AR applications, which can be used for marketing and sales purposes.
An example is a virtual fitting room designed for the clothing brand Timberland. It was presented in 2014 at Moktow Gallery in Warsaw. Trying on clothes can be very tedious and can take a lot of time. The AR application helped to solve this problem.
The virtual fitting room allowed shoppers to see on the screen their face and a body model similar to their silhouette and allowed them to change clothes. The operation of the application is based on the Kinect motion recognition technology, thanks to which it is possible to select further elements of clothing with the use of hand movements.
7. VR application
In addition to AR applications, it is also worth thinking about virtual reality applications. To create it you will also need already prepared 3D models.
As an example, let’s use Holoroom, used by Lowe’s – a home decoration company. The VR application allowed buyers to see what their home would look like after certain improvements. The company also worked with Microsoft to enable users to choose design types and individual products such as chairs and wardrobes.
A similar solution was also introduced by IKEA with a VR application that allows you to place furniture in a virtual image of your home to determine how it will fit in.
As you can see, 3D models can be used in numerous ways. It is worth treating them as an investment, because they will be useful in many situations.
